It has recently come to my attention that a service called Onlive.com allows basic computers the ability to play high quality graphics intensive games online.

My current PC, Acer Aspire 5610Z, which I purchased years ago cannot run most new PC games and can barely run Left4Dead. I thought I would need a new laptop, but Onlive's gaming center has given me new hope.

To sign up, you have to use a credit card but there is no charge. (Correction, now you can sign up for a free trial without a credit card.) You can play most of the games for 30 min. free and you can watch other people play at any time.

The games seem to run very well and do require a broadband connection. The best time to purchase a game is usually on the weekends which is when they run sales.

Two New iPhone Games

At last Mirror's Edge is on the iPhone and it is an incredible game. Also, Spider-man: Total Mayhem was released this week.

Both games are amazing in different ways and both games are from different developers. EA made Mirror's Edge and Gameloft made Spiderman.

I strongly recommend both games, but as usual, wait for it, wait for it... to go one sale! The absolutely best time to buy games on iTunes is when they are $.99.

Free at Last!

Today, I finally upgraded to the iPhone, no, not the 4, the 3GS. I was able to get the 3GS for half the price of the iPhone 4 from AT&T.

I figured it was best to save money and not worry about any of the iPhone 4's issues. I'll "wait for the upgrade".

I have found it best to go with stable technology and not the latest unstable technology. Companies rush their techs to put a product out with the "fix it later" attitude and they sell millions of product and make billions in revenue.

It seems best to let the people who obviously have more money than I do buy all the newest technology. Being a smart consumer is knowing when to buy and when not to buy, "know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" ideology.

I must say that moving from a Blackberry Curve to an iPhone 3GS is a leap forward for me and a step in the right direction. Sorry Android people, I like my iPhone better.

Air Hogs Sharpshooter Battery

So, I have an Air Hogs Sharpshooter and I enjoy flying it, but the battery takes 30 min. to charge and only last 4-5 min. for flying.

I decided to open it up and see what battery I currently have, so I can get a better one. The battery that is in the Air Hogs Sharpshooter is a 3.7V 140mAh LiPo battery.

Now, I have to decide what battery to buy. I have seen 400mAh to 700mAh batteries.

Hopefully, I will get the right battery to extend my flight time.

Yes, it has been decided! When my contract runs out in August, I'm switching from Verizon to AT&T for whatever the newest iPhone is at that time. I showed my wife all the apps on my iPod Touch and she really likes it, so now I'm counting the days until we make the big switch.

My Next Phone?

The iPad is not a reasonable purchase for me, especially since there are many things it cannot do (see Chad W. Smith's blog), I have to decide on what my next cell phone will be. My contract ends in August and I will need a two cell phone deal. I currently have the Blackberry Curve and hardly ever use it except for texting and an occasional phone call.

I think I want the Motorola Droid, but then there's the Nexus One. I may have more options still by August.

We'll see what comes out.

Sell My Touch for an i Pad?

Well, I just found out the tablet for Apple, the iPad is going to sell for around $499. I think I'll wait until it drops to $200 before I buy one. For now, I will stick with my iPod Touch. Hope everyone else buys like crazy because that will send the price down.

Yes, today Gameloft released a game for the iPod Touch/iPhone that is like Halo. This game rocks! I thought it would be $9.99 so I had my iTunes money ready, but it is $6.99 and worth every penny.

The controls are easy and it has auto lock aiming so if you miss a shot, it's your fault. This game is also multi-player via wifi or bluetooth and has online game play. I have already defeated Rick DeYoung and will soon take on the great Chad W. Smith.

Yes, I know it's been a while since I've blogged, but I recently purchased a Blackberry Curve and it is a wonderful way to stay connected anywhere I go. My last phone was a touch screen pocketpc phone that I was disappointed with over time. Because of my experience, or poor experience with a touch screen phone, I didn't get the new Blackberry Storm, plus it was $100 more.

If you get a Blackberry, i suggest the basic internet data plan. It is well worth it and moves at a good pace. If you're an impatient person, spend the extra money on the 3G plan.

Okay, here are some things that impress me with Blackberry: 1. Email- all my email comes to my blackberry in real time 2. Apps- MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Google Maps, Opera, Flickr, ViiGo, and more. Having a Blackberry reduces the use of my laptop and keeps me connected wherever I go.

Honda Check Engine Light

I recently had a little problem with my check engine light on my 1997 4-cylinder 2.2L Honda Accord EX Sedan. The check engine light stayed on before and I new it was just an emissions problem. When the light went off, I thought it was a false alarm, but the bulb had burned out. I searched for a bulb at every auto parts store, just to find out it is a Honda only part. I went to the Honda dealership and to the parts department to order a new bulb. They pulled up a diagram and said they didn't know which one it was. I took my dash apart and brought the bulb in and they still didn't know which one it was. Finally they found it and I was able to replace the bulb, then order my EGR valve and O2 downstream sensor, but not from Honda. I found the emissions parts I needed for a good price at Advance Auto Parts. To answer some questions, the O2 sensor was the downstream also called Bank 1 sensor 2 and the bulb was Part #35505-SA5-003 for $3.87 and it is the same bulb for the high beams, brake, turn signals, srs, and seat belt lights. Another thing, I noticed significant improvement in horsepower after replacing the O2 sensor as well as much better gas mileage.

Genius G-Pen 340

I finally bought my first tablet for my computer. I heard that Wacom tablets are the best, but my budget and the fact that I have to crawl before I walk forced me to search for a lower-end tablet. I wasn't sure what tablet to look for, so I looked for something under $50. I went to a site Chad W. Smith told me about called Geeks.com and found the Genius G-Pen 340 for $30. I liked the price and also noticed the pen sensitivity was 1024 and some other tablets had a sensitivity of 500. I'm not sure of what that really matters to me, but I didn't want the bottom of the barrel tablet so I got this one. Last I check, Geeks.com no longer sell the Genius G-Pen 340, but should they carry it again, it is a great start for a tablet. My tablet works like a dream. Here are the specs:

I already have a camcorder, but I wanted to get a digital camera to take superb pictures. So, I recently bought the FujiFilm FinePix S700 from "Wally World", Wal-mart for $220. Alright, this is not a tech entry, but the entire world seems to want peace. Now pay attention while I give a simple remedy for World Peace. Here it is. The world needs one ruler and it will have peace. I'm not saying who that ruler should be, but having one person in charge is the only way we will have peace. There you go, that is my simple take on the whole "World Peace" thing. For us to be one, we have to merge together under one ruler and then a united world can have peace.

Time for a New Controller

I think it's high time I bought a new game controller for my computer. My current one is a Gravis Gamepad Pro which I don't think they make any more. I don't even think Gravis is a company nowadays. I've seen a wireless controller at Wal-mart for $20 and I'm thinking about getting that one, but I don't know what the name brand is. Oh yeah, the reason I'm getting a new controller is the Gravis Gamepad Pro's drivers work for awhile, then stop working after a day or so. There is no support for my controller, and I've had it for about 5 years so I will have to spend the money for a new controller.

My Vista Xperience

I recently purchased an Acer 5610Z laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium pre-installed. It has a 1.6GHZ processor, 120 GB Hard drive, and 1 GB of RAM. I played with aero and wasn't impressed. I did notice that programs seemed to run a little faster than on XP though. After a month of using Vista and running into incompatibility issues with many of my programs, I decided to go back to XP.

After I installed XP Pro on it, the sound and wifi stopped working. Thanks to the Acer website, I got the drivers and everything works great. Now, all my programs work and I don't have to buy newer ones. I recommend that everyone stay with XP until Microsoft fixes Vista. It may take a year or two, but until then, XP is the operating system of choice.

Wiimote

I finally got a third Wiimote from Wal-mart. Now I can play with up to three players. I guess I should start getting some Wii nunchucks next. I am waiting for the game Wii Play to be released next month with a free controller that will make my fourth and final one. I would rather spend fifty dollars on a game with a Wiimote, than forty on a Wiimote and fifty on a game. Wii Play includes nine multiplayer games which include pool, table tennis, and air hockey. Wii Play is to be released February 12, 2007. I hope there's not a line to wait in just to get the game.

iPhone

What can I say about the Apple iPhone? Every body wants one. I've been waiting for a year for this phone to come out. Apple has done everything I wanted in this phone. The only thing I need them to do now is to increase the hard drive to at least 30 GB and offer it through Verizon Wireless. If I had a contract with Cingular, I would be ecstatic. I love the OS on this phone because I think Apple OSX is the best Operating System in the world. The thinness of this phone is incredible also and I was thinking about getting an Ipod, but my current phone is the Samsung i730 and it does great. This phone is better than my current phone, but if I can watch tv shows and download through itunes, then I want a bigger hard drive to store all that without sacrificing the thinness. I would be surprised and overjoyed if Apple makes another phone that meets my requirements, but until then, I'll stick to my Samsung i730. My contract end this year so I hope Apple is on the ball.

Wii: Got one?

Surprise, surprise! My wife bought me a Nintendo Wii. My friend and co-worker, Chad Smith of chadwmith.com bought it for me from Wal-mart and I gave him the money back. The Wii is truly the greatest game system ever! It takes some getting used to in the controls, but once you get the hang of it, you enjoy it and get the benefits of cardiovascular exercise. I have since got Red Steel and another Wiimote ( Wii remote). I also bought and downloaded Super Mario, Mario 64, Street Fighter II, and Zelda. Super Mario seems to be the most played game and everyone remembers hours of game playing when they were kids. I like the Wii Sports bowling game the best, because it's turn based and I'm good at it. I just started playing Red Steel and it's a good game, but I don't think it's the best. I want to get Madden 07 and Wii Play in February with the free Wiimote. We'll see how much money I can come up with.

Happy New Year everyone! Not really sure what will happen in 2007. Hopefully something great like world peace or something. Technologically, we're supposed to get some cool devices like new ipods with wireless capability and touchscreen, ipod cellphones and pda phones, and new laser TVs to replace plasma TVs at a much cheaper price. I also wouldn't be surprised if Apple releases new laptops and desktops for '07. I don't have a New Year's resolution, so I won't be breaking it either. I hope to be more successful and learn many, many new things. Maybe I can finally develop something new and useful for the human race instead of doing useless nomadic things with my life. So, happy New Year and here's to a more focused year and incredibly new things in a new year of life!

Nintendo Wii

Over the holidays, I had the chance to play and watch the Nintendo Wii game system. Let me tell you, this is the best video game system ever made! How can I make such a bold statement? First of all, the graphics are incredible. Second, the interactivity in the gameplay is incredible. I played and lost the boxing game and by the time I was finished, I was dripping with sweat. Can you say workout? Finally, I can play games and get good exercise at the same time. My wife even wants me to have a Nintendo Wii and she does not like video games, that's how good it is. She is going to buy one for me after they release the next version with DVD play next year. I cannot wait to get my hands on this game system. I almost wish I had waited in line with the people who got it when it first came out. The games that come with the system are bowling, boxing, tennis, and baseball. After I get a Wii, I'll be buying a football game, preferably NCAA Football.

JVC GR-D347u Camcorder

This Christmas I received many presents. One present I bought myself. I bought a JVC GR-D347u DV Camcorder from Wal-mart. My digital camera that I paid $200 for about 3 years ago died on me, so I needed a new camera. I decided to search for a digital camcorder so I could record video and save it to my computer and maybe even make a DVD. I wasn't sure what kind of camcorder I wanted, because there are so many good options from Sony, Cannon, and JVC to Hitachi and many others. I think Sony's supposed to be the best, but the price is too high for me at $500- $600. I decided since I hadn't operated a camcorder since the old ones that weigh down on your shoulder and use VHS tapes, I'd better get one for a beginner, since I never owned a camcorder. So far, I really like this camera and hope to do some good videos with the help of my friends and post them on YouTube. I also need to find a good program to edit videos so I can create a more professional look.

I am using my PayPerPost money to buy my Mom's Christmas presents this year. So far I have earned $149 and I still do not use PayPerPost everyday. I bought my mom some gifts from philosophy.com. I've noticed lately that MTV's shows are airing more racial slurs that they must feel will get them better ratings. I do not think that airing the use of the N# word is a way to get better ratings. If I were running a TV channel, I would have that completely taken out of any reality shows. I do not think censoring it is good enough. Ethnic slurs and racially derogatory comments should not be tolerated or aired in today's society. Please MTV, don't worry about pimping my ride, try improving society for once.

Netflix is a better way for me to look for dvd rentals and saves me gas money. The way is works is; you go to Netflix.com and sign up for 20 bucks a month plus tax. You peruse the listings of movies for rent and click right there on the big red RENT button. It goes into a queue and Netflix sends them in the US Postal mail. They send out 3 movies and when you are done watching those, you'll get the next 3 movies in your queue according to your priority that you set. Under the $20 plan, you're allowed 3 movies out at any time. You can add as many movies to the queue as you want. You can also change the priority of the movies. Let's say you have 1. Monsters Inc, 2. Shrek and 3. My Big Fat Greek Wedding in the queue and you see a new movie come out that you just can't wait for. It's pretty easy to just logon to your account and give it top priority to get to you faster. If you get a dvd that is cracked or does not play correctly, you just go on their site and mark it as damaged, send it back to them, and they send you a replacement. I love it when movies come to me.

Yes that's right, the Nintendo Wii is out tomorrow. Will people fight over Nintendo's newest gaming system like they did the PS3. I wonder what it's worth on ebay. Have you ever had to prepare a tutorial for how to do something on a computer? Have you ever tried to demonstrate your new software or website? If you have, you've probably taken dozens if not hundreds of screen shots, or screen captures, to show your audience what they should be doing - or how your project would look. But there are limitations. Unless you take a screenshot on every single button press or mouse click - there is a good chance that somebody is going to miss something. And, there are some things - like animations - that screen shots just do not do justice.

Maybe I should try it and see how much I can lose. I think he's on some low carb diet like Atkins but more gradual. Walk away the pounds seems to work well with gradual diets also. I had a weird dream last night, and I don't usually remember dreams at all. It was about three big white guys at a tattoo parlor. Two of them already had their tattoos done and in color. The last one was on the table getting his done and he was in pain, while the others were yelling out of excitement. When he was done, I read the tattoo and it said "Blitzkrieg", but was not in color. Weird dream. I looked up that word, "blitzkrieg" and it is a German word for "lightning war" or "flash war". What could it mean? Will there be a flash war on the United States?

I thought it was interesting that Apple's Ipods had a virus. They say it came from a Windows computer at the main plant. They also say that any antivirus program will get rid of the virus. I understand they had to have a Windows PC to test compatibility with a PC, but why didn't they get a Windows person to use it? If they had, the Windows person would have installed an antivirus program and there wouldn't be a problem.

Samsung I730 Upgrade

I found out Verizon Wireless released an update for the Samsung I-730 on their website and didn't even tell the customers. The ugrade is from Wimdows Mobile 2003 to Windows Mobile 5. My phone works so much better now. Before it would freeze up and it didn't come with any way to add ringers or pics to my phone book, but WM5 has it all. I am very pleased with the upgrade and I no longer feel left behind. Upgrading will delete all information on your device, so backup first. Have you driven a Honda?

I have a 2.2 Liter 1997 Honda Accord Ex Sedan that I bought for $3000 from a friend. I have to replace a few things like shocks, EGR valve, and driver's side axle, but it's still a great car. I replaced the axle recently and my next task will be to replace the shocks for a smooth ride. I really like the 1994-1997 body style. It seems after those years Honda went nuts. First, they went for bigger, curvier body styles and now they are smaller and cheap looking. Someone at Honda needs to be fired. Let me create the body styles.

I just bought my first PDA phone. The Samsung SCH-I730. Phone and minicomputer. All in one. It's great! It has built in Wi-Fi, in addition to CDMA EV-DO high-speed data wireless internet w/ Verizon Wireless, Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition, infrared, dual 3D stereo speakers, an SD I/O card slot, and speaker-independent voice dialing, and Bluetooth. It also has a 520 MHz processor and 128 MB of memory. This phone keeps me organized and connected. So far, I haven't had any problems with it. I have been purchasing software to make it more like my desktop PC.

Today I bought a pretty neat mp3 player that also records sound and tranfers files. It is made by Buslink. It also had an external speaker which sounds great. I would recommend anyone to get it at Bilo for $35 w/ bonuscard.
